Street fests galore

Whether you are a Chicago native or simply visiting for the weekend, you won’t want to miss the popular street festivals that are taking place in and around the city. While most of the festivals are  free, they do have a “suggested donation” which can range from $5-$10. If you like to sample local restaurants, listen to live music, or scope out area vendors, then you are in the right place. However, be prepared for large crowds and long lines, especially at some of the more popular street fests. If you have young children, you may want to visit the fests during the day before the craziness is in full effect.

Check out this guide below from Metromix on all the hottest festivals taking place from June- September. Not sure which fest to attend? The neighborhood in which the festival takes place is usually indicative of the crowd and type of people you will encounter. Eat, drink, and be merry!
